Almost Buried

neither ice, snow, sleet or rain will deter our US postal service.

Happily, the raised flag can be spotted by the USPS mail delivery person. You have a lot of snow for southern PA (and we a lot in coastal CT), but this has been a crazy winter. Stay warm!!

I'm sure the postal carriers wouldn't mind having a "snow day" now and then!

SEEING RED

Tonight, my dear, I’m seeing red—
Or is it puce or rose?
Whatever’s going round my head
Is tingling all my toes.

My heart, my dear, becomes inflamed
With passion sore ablaze;
Perhaps it is because I miss
Your glowing, crimson gaze.

Whate’er the cause, my face is flushed
Like a ripened cherry,
No longer healthy, but inflamed—
See the vessels serry*?

A certain sanguine aftertaste
Is clinging to my tongue,
For I have kissed your ruby lips—
To which the claret clung.

*serry – (archaic) to crowd closely together

I can't imagine that much snow.. not even when we lived in the north.
Hope you and Jer skedaddle out of there real soon, Jan.

I just can't imagine this. I do know one thing though; I will never complain about being cold again inside or out. I'll just grab a sweater.

Oh my - that is a lot of snow! During our last snow/ice event the postal service did not deliver. :)

We only had two inches of snow and the mail-lady got stuck in the ditch at the house next door and had to be towed! Guess they know how to deal with snow in your neck of the woods! :-)
