No wonder we love apples so much. They're beautiful on the tree, in the basket or in our hand for a tasty snack. With your photos I can never choose a favorite, Janis. Soft, lovely colors, perfect focus.

When I was a kid, I loved criterion apples most of all. Now I'm with Faye.. and love those honey crisp.

rarely make pie anymore -- but when I make an apple pie, I usually throw in some berries and then bite into the unknown. Love it!

ps. one of the largest orchards is near here where we take our boat and go playing at the river

If you follow that link on first fruits you will see that they are a company dedicated to helping others as well as themselves. Where we go boating they have like 6000 acres of apples. Hope you take a look at their web site!

I love apples but no longer put them in pies. They are either eaten as they come or in a crumble. Recently have taken to adding pears to apple crumbles.

Great perspective in that last shot. We picked apples at the orchard last weekend. It's a fun fall thing to do and hubby will be making some applesauce and apple butter to enjoy throughout the winter.
